tractors and attractors performance lab

tractors and attractors:
a 6 day laboratory exploring the intersections of
site-responsive and mediatised performance

supported by Dance Connect and Northumbria University

14-19 April 2008

FREE to regionally based artists.

Our interest is in site-responsive performance and
performance making processes that incorporate digital
technology. A particular question for us has been
concerned with the ways in which technology mediates
our perceptions of sites, landscapes and places.

Proposed outline of the week:
Monday: Introduction
Warming up, short tasks, introduction to technological
tools
Discussions of individual ideas and ways of working.
Opportunity to negotiate the week’s activities.

Tuesday: A day in the countryside
Immersion and making in a rural landscape

Wednesday: A day in the city
Immersion and making in an urban landscape

Thursday
Development of individual or collaborative projects

Friday
Development of projects and testing of performance
ideas (technicalities especially)

Saturday
Sharing performance as part of Mediatised Sites, a one
day festival at Dance City

If you are interested please send an email to Kate and
